Looking to spend some quality time with the one you love on a romantic holiday getaway? We have some advice to help you ensure a relaxed, enjoyable, romantic holiday. No matter what type of holiday you go on, planning is always the first step and can be the most stressful. The same goes for a romantic getaway, but do not worry we have suggestions to help you have little stress and lots of excitement for your romantic holiday.
First things first
Plan ahead! To avoid any frustrations or road blocks leading up to your departure make sure things are lined up in advance to your leaving day. If you have a pet that needs to be taken care of, kids that need to be watched, or someone to stop by and bring in your mail talk with friends and family ahead of time to get these covered and not have to worry about finding someone to help you at the last minute. Also pack ahead of time. Don’t wait until the night before to pack your suitcase. The last thing you want is to be rushing around and causing stress on each other before you leave. Not a good way to begin a romantic holiday together.
At your destination
It is okay not to plan a go, go, go, activity filled holiday. Enjoy a simple, slow paced, relaxing getaway. A few activities on the agenda are good if there is a museum or activity you would like to check out, go for it, but leave time to take a stroll through a nearby park or wander the city streets. Get lost together and enjoy each other’s company. Take in the new sites and don’t be afraid to lose track of time. Plan a dinner out at a romantic restaurant or a quaint, quiet place where you can focus on each other and enjoy a long meal talking with each other and trying new foods. Another night you could stay in and make dinner together. What’s more romantic than cooking together while enjoying a glass of wine? After dinner take a walk and see a sunset, snuggle up together and watch a movie, or simply delight in your time together, perhaps fireside. Be spontaneous! Have fun together and do something new. Go for a midnight swim or go stargazing. Surprise each other with a gift or plan an outing (romantic or spontaneous) to enjoy together (horseback riding, a day at the spa, a carriage ride through the city, a picnic on the beach). The most important part of your romantic holiday is to slow down and enjoy your time together!
